Corp Update May 13th 2011

Butterball’s vacation has led to a lapse in recent corp reports.

April was a good month. We were able to acquire and install a cynosural generator in B-U299 to speed transport in and out of system. In addition the first of some new moon mining starbases were established in Cobalt Edge with approval from Oldma and high command. It is hoped that further starbases and advanced ship production will be up and running within a few months.

Towards the end of April the Goonswarm Federation, Northern Coalition incursions. These impeded some operations but the corp gained some good combat experience. Almost a week and half of solid combat in VY and surrounding systems.

Goonswarm Federation held the station for about twelve hours at one point in early May. Solar Fleet, Ethereal Dawn and Solar Wing provided defense assistance in VY to protect the infrastructure hub and thus the system was never lost.

While IRC, SOLAR, ED and SOL-W defended VY other elements of DRF launched a probing attack on several key systems in Tribute. Goonswarm Fed then withdrew most of their forces from Cobalt Edge to aid in the defense of Tribute. However they maintain a small recon combat presence which continues to prick the side occasionally of the Cobalt Edge Residents.

Concord has recently issued new regulations for jump bridge operations to increase safety at the bridges. The first of these new regulations takes effect in 4 days barring some divine intervention. This new regulation will prevent ships with a jump drive from using jump bridges except the rather small Black Ops ships. It was cited that there could be a feedback loop that could destroy both the Jump Bridge and Jumping ship, the instance of occurrence was less than one in a million but Concord in their infinite wisdom has decided that is to great a risk.

The next phase of new regulations will take place next month in June. These include a large fuel bay refit to jump bridges to speed the flow of traffic as well as a limit of one jump bridge per system. Barring diving intervention these new regulations will change greatly traffic in outlaw regions. Concord cites that there could be an effect upon the stars in a system that could increase flare activity as the reason for the new limits on jumpbridges, they cite the number of stargates active as alternatives to using the more convenient jumpbridges and thus lowering the chance for coronal mass ejections which could destroy planets in a system.

Corp Update: March 25th 2011

So been a bit since I updated… and honestly I have been busy with work and other endeavours. However at this moment I am listening and watching the live stream of Eve Fanfest 2011. Happy to hear some of the planned items for the Incarna expansion were announced. Some of it so so, some of it technically looks nice. Glad to hear they are working again to redevelop the corporation recruitment process. Hopefully that will make it a bit easier for new players to find a corporation.

In corp news we completed a Mining/alloy operation yesterday, turnout for the time frame was good and everyone seemed to be in good spirits. In other news we relocated the system we are occupying now and I personally am happier as we now have a better selection of default Ores, Drones, and overall security in the system. The fact that we are no longer in the direct path line of incoming NC reds to our system is a huge bonus and I think it has been well received by the majority of the corporation. I have to tip my hat to our logistic’s people taking down the POS from one system and having it back up and fully functional with all necessary defenses in just a 5 hour window is great.

On the recruitment side due to the continual gorilla tactics of the NC we have to lock down recruitment at the moment and our minimum for skills on a new applicant has increased to the 10 million skill point range. Overall this is probably the best because in this region you need to be able to competently pilot a battlecruiser or higher in order to rat without getting blown up by the drones. And on the other hand if your focus is mining you will want to have most of your ore reprocessing skills to at least level 4 in order to use the Tech 2 crystals and improve your refine yields in the outposts.

Overall going back to the fanfest there appears to be some exciting changes in place in the coming year for Eve. If the reported rumored dev blog patch notes (Here and Here) leak is even remotely true.. Eve again may become a VERY interesting place.
