Crucible – And the upcoming Winter War

Um it’s been awhile… but back to some more normal posting for the 3 of you that actually visit this page instead of going directly to the forums directly.

Oh I forgot…. new people…well I hope new people we are still looking to recruit… I think every corporation in null-sec (0.0) is continually recruiting for one reason or another. If you are here to get more information on the corp by all means read on and survey what you see, however like most things in eve if you really want more information sign in and go to the public

Keep in mind we look for pilots with a minimum of  5+ million skill points. We do require a FULL API key when processing applications (not limited, which means every box checked in the current EVE API system).

A few things to note about Cobalt Edge and Intrepid Crossing (IRC):

  1. To survive in null-sec (0.0) you need at least battlecruiser skills. This typically means that you should try to have all main weapon and support skills at least to a level of IV.
  2. We live in the Drone Regions; as such there are no bounties on the rats out in this area. While this is sometimes difficult for people to grasp especially those come from High Sec who are primarily used to running missions etc. the potential to make ISK is usually greater than those in bounty rat regions…it just takes a little more thought.
  3. While we are primarily an Industrial and Mining corporation we are required to participate in alliance Home Defense (HD) and Call to Arms (CTA) fleets. (This will most likely become more frequent as the redesign of eve’s PVP, thanks to Crucible, unfolds in the next few weeks/months.)
  4. We are spread out over pretty much every time zone, where most are active around the North American time zone we do have a dedicated bunch that play within the Euro time zones.
  5. We do have a corporation Mineral (Ore)/Salvage/Planetary Interaction (PI)/and Alloy purchasing program where the corporation buys these materials from the members and then resells them typically to our Industrial builders.
  6. We do have a set monthly member due, which includes ISK towards Alliance and Fuel costs. It isn’t outrageous and can generally be resolved with 1 or 2 Horde complexes a month, so maybe 2 hours of time.

Now that the sales pitch is over I wanted to let just briefly cover some of the events taking place within the corporation. We are at the completion line for our Outpost project…now comes the wait and see aspect… thrilling…like watching paint dry….HOWEVER we have our miner hordes keeping up the industry index in our system and as usual our ratting in the area is always consistent. We have funneled a lot of the purchased Ores/Alloys/Minerals to go toward the construction of the Outpost and we are looking to deploy the station in…..sorry not going to reveal that bit in this post.

With the upcoming POS fuel changes in Crucible some of our more market savvy players have already started speculation into the ice and PI markets for the increase in prices on these commodities…Looks like ice prices are going to continue to be elevated for the foreseeable future due to the new Fuel Pellet system being introduced. On a different note our builders were a little bit sad on the announced Supercarrier nerfs, along with out SC pilots, due to mainly reduced demand for these beasts which has pretty much halted production for the moment, good thing we started phasing that production out at the end of the summer. But there is much hope that the Dreadnaught buff will increase demand for those once powerful ships so that a new line of revenue can be opened up for our builders, which in turn helps our ratters and miners get paid more for their efforts.

There are a lot of nice fixes and patches that are coming out and while the alliance gears up for war and the production machines start churning it is a relatively stable period in our area, which for the moment allows for lots of mining/ratting/PVP roams. Honestly in my humble view this patch (expansion) is going to be a really good thing for both the corporation and the overall player base of eve.

Until next post. See you in game!

Corp Update, Eve News November 18th 2011

I’ve been sadly very lax in posting new corp news in recent months. I keep hoping someone else will do it for me.

Things have been going pretty good. With the end of the last great war we’ve been able to dedicate a bit more time to the construction of our outpost. We hope to have it up and in place by Christmas.

As always we’ve been sad to see a few take leaves of absences and new folks come into the fold. We’ve got a good bunch of miners right now that are doing well I believe.

Like most everyone we are waiting on the winter expansion with much excitement, it seems to be a great package of things most of the gaming populace has asked for over the last few years. I hope that its a portent of things to come.
